Get Involved: Volunteer!

The AJ Parent Association is a group of parents who are dedicated to improving our school. There are various volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and we are always looking for new parents to get involved! If you are interested, contact Sara Celello (saracelello@hotmail.com, cell: 267-972-3898) or just come to a Parent Association meeting. Meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30, and take place in the preschool lobby. Childcare is provided for the little ones.

How You Can Help

Throughout the year, the parent association sponsors events for AJ students, families and staff. From serving on a planning committee, to supporting any of the school-wide service projects, your time is valuable and a key component to AJ’s success!

Events

Family Open House and Picnic
September

Our back to school kick-off event! Parents and children visit their classrooms and teachers to see what the students have been working on, then we all move across the street to Douglass Community Center for a picnic dinner, play, and music from John Gage.

Annual Pasta Supper
March
Our main event and major annual fundraiser. Enjoy a delicious pasta dinner, dance and sing with John Gage, laugh with Mr Magic, get your face painted, and browse our silent auction for great items at a steal. Look for volunteer sign-ups in February.

Pastries and Parents
February
NEW! Parents and/or grandparents join the 3’s and 4’s for a morning of pastries, special crafts, and time together at school!

Honey Hills Petting Zoo
March
This traveling petting zoo sets up just off the parking lot and each class vists the animals! A favorite with the kids every year!

End of the year celebration
